What are the power requirements of the Charging Module?Updated 4 days ago
The SP-Connect Charging Module requires an input power supply of at least 5 V / 2 A (minimum 10 W) for reliable operation.
Minimum requirements
For normal operation, the power source should provide at least:
- 5 V / 2 A
- 10 W total power output
If the power source cannot provide this output, charging performance may be reduced or charging interruptions may occur.
Requirements for fast charging
To achieve wireless charging outputs of 7.5 W or 10 W, the power source should support at least:
- 9 V / 1.67 A
- 15 W total power output
The actual charging speed achieved also depends on the smartphone being used and the charging protocols it supports.
Recommended power sources
For the best possible charging performance, we recommend using a power source that supports:
- Quick Charge (QC 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0)
- USB-C Power Delivery (PD)
These standards provide the voltage and current required for optimum Charging Module performance.
Summary
The Charging Module requires at least 5 V / 2 A (10 W) for reliable operation. For fast charging, we recommend a power source with at least 15 W output and support for Quick Charge or USB-C Power Delivery.
