Water has entered my Phone Case Xtreme. Why did this happen and what can I do?Updated 9 days ago
The SP Connect Phone Case Xtreme is IP68 rated and provides protection against rain, splashes, dust and temporary immersion in fresh water at a depth of up to 1.5 metres for a maximum of 30 minutes, provided that the case is correctly closed and sealed.
If water has entered your Phone Case Xtreme, please first check that all parts of the case were completely closed before use.
What should I check?
For the Phone Case Xtreme to provide its intended water protection:
- The display housing and back cover must be completely closed and securely connected on all sides.
- All port covers and seals must be completely closed.
If the case was correctly closed and water still entered, you can perform a simple test to check for possible leakage.
How can I test the Phone Case Xtreme for leakage?
Important: Always perform this test without your smartphone inside the case.
- Remove your smartphone: Take the smartphone out of the Phone Case Xtreme.
- Close the case: Connect the display housing and back cover and make sure that the case is completely closed and sealed on all sides. Also make sure that all port covers are fully closed.
- Submerge the empty case: Place the closed Phone Case Xtreme in a sink filled with water for approximately one minute.
- Check for water ingress: Remove and dry the outside of the case before opening it. Then check whether any water has entered the case.
- Document any leakage: If you notice water inside the case, please take photos of the affected area.
