The mechanism of my Universal Phone Case Xtreme is suddenly locked. Why did this happen and what can I do?Updated 4 months ago
In rare cases, the mechanism of the SP-Connect Universal Phone Case Xtreme can accidentally be rotated beyond its intended position.
This may happen if the Universal Phone Case Xtreme is not positioned completely flat on the mount when attaching it and slips slightly during the locking process.
In this situation, the mechanism can end up in the locked position even though the case was never properly attached to a mount. As a result, the case can no longer be mounted onto an SP Connect holder.
Solution: Reset the mechanism using the SPC+ Tool
You can return the mechanism to its correct starting position using the included SPC+ Tool.
Important: Make sure your smartphone is inside the Universal Phone Case Xtreme before using the SPC+ Tool.
Step-by-step instructions
- Insert your smartphone into the Universal Phone Case Xtreme.
- Hold the case securely.
Hold the Universal Phone Case Xtreme firmly with one hand. - Insert the SPC+ Tool.
Place the SPC+ Tool fully and flat into the mechanism. Make sure the tool engages two diagonally opposite corners of the interface. - Rotate the mechanism back.
Turn the mechanism 90° back to its original position using the SPC+ Tool. Some additional force may be required. This is normal.
How to prevent over-rotation
Whenever attaching the Universal Phone Case Xtreme, make sure the interface sits completely flat on the mount before rotating it 90° into the locked position.
This helps prevent slipping and accidental over-rotation of the mechanism.
