The mechanism of my Universal Phone Case will not lock. What can I do?Updated a month ago
A certain level of resistance when locking the SP Connect mechanism is normal due to its design. With the Universal Phone Case, this resistance may feel more pronounced if you test the mechanism “in isolation” (without a mounted SP Connect mount and without a smartphone inserted).
To determine whether the mechanism of your Universal Phone Case is defective, please proceed as follows:
1) Mount the holder correctly
Securely and firmly attach your SP Connect mount to the intended vehicle (e.g. bicycle, motorcycle, or car). Proper and stable installation is essential for a reliable functional test.
2) Insert the smartphone
- Place the self-adhesive EVA frame and the scratch-free fleece insert into the Universal Phone Case.
- Carefully slide your smartphone into the pouch.
- Carefully roll down the top part of the case.
- Secure the case firmly using the designated Velcro fastener.
- Ensure that the smartphone fits securely and that the case is completely closed.
3) Lock the mechanism
Place the Universal Phone Case with the mechanism flat and fully aligned onto the mounted holder.
Then rotate the Universal Phone Case by 90° into the locked position.
The official manual can be found here:
- Manual Universal Phone Case
Only under these conditions are the necessary pressure and leverage forces created to reliably determine whether an actual defect is present.
If the Universal Phone Case still cannot be locked
If the Universal Phone Case still cannot be locked despite correct use, a rare defect in the mechanism may be present.
