The mechanism of my Universal Interface won’t lock. What can I do?Updated a month ago
A certain amount of resistance when locking the SP-Connect mechanism is normal by design. With the Universal Interface, this resistance can feel particularly strong if you test the mechanism “in isolation” (without a mounted phone case and without a smartphone installed).
To determine whether the mechanism of your Universal Interface is actually defective, please proceed as follows:
1) Install the Universal Interface correctly
Attach the interface to a flat, smooth surface (min. 55 × 65 mm) of a third-party phone case.
Thoroughly clean the surface beforehand using the included alcohol wipe.
Position the interface carefully and then press it down firmly for at least 30 seconds.
Important: Repositioning is not possible.
Depending on the ambient temperature, allow the adapter to cure for several hours before applying full load.
2) Insert the smartphone
For testing, the smartphone must be inside the phone case.
3) Securely mount the motorcycle holder
Ensure that the SP-Connect mount is correctly and securely installed on your vehicle.
4) Perform the locking test
Place the phone case with the mounted Universal Interface fully and flush onto the mounted SP-Connect holder.
Then rotate it by 90° into the locking position.

Only under these conditions will the necessary pressure and leverage forces be generated to reliably assess whether a defect is present. A test without a mounted phone case and without a securely installed holder is not conclusive.
If it still does not lock
If the Universal Interface does not lock under the conditions described above, there is most likely a rare defect in the mechanism. In this case, please contact our Customer Support and provide:
A brief description of the issue
A short video showing that the Universal Interface does not lock under the conditions described above
