In rare cases, the Twist-to-Lock mechanism of the SP Connect Phone Case Xtreme may accidentally remain in the locked position when the case is not attached to a mount.
This can happen if the Phone Case Xtreme is not positioned fully and flat on the mounting head and slips slightly while being rotated. The mechanism may then rotate into the locked position without being correctly connected to the mount.
If this happens, the Phone Case Xtreme can no longer be placed correctly onto a Twist-to-Lock mount until the mechanism has been reset.
How can I reset the mechanism?
You can return the mechanism to its correct position using the included SPC+ Tool.
Important: Make sure that your smartphone is inside the Phone Case Xtreme before using the SPC+ Tool to reset the mechanism.
Step-by-step instructions
- Stabilise the case: Hold the Phone Case Xtreme firmly in one hand.
- Position the SPC+ Tool: Place the tool fully and flat into the mechanism. Make sure that it is in contact with two diagonally opposite corners of the mechanism at the same time.
- Reset the mechanism: Use the SPC+ Tool to rotate the mechanism back by 90°. Slightly more force may be required during this step, which is normal.
