The locking mechanism of my Universal Phone Case LT is stuck. Why did this happen and what can I do?Updated 4 months ago
In rare cases, the mechanism of the SP-Connect Universal Phone Case LT may accidentally be rotated beyond its intended locking position.
This can happen if the Universal Phone Case LT is not positioned completely flat on an SP Connect mount and slips slightly while being locked.
In this situation, the mechanism ends up in the locked position even though the case was not properly attached to a mount. As a result, the case can no longer be mounted onto an SP Connect holder.
Solution: Reset the mechanism using the SPC+ Tool
You can return the mechanism to its correct starting position using the included SPC+ Tool.
Important: Make sure your smartphone is inserted in the Universal Phone Case LT before using the SPC+ Tool.
Step-by-step instructions
- Hold the Universal Phone Case LT securely
Hold the case firmly with one hand. - Insert the SPC+ Tool
Insert the SPC+ Tool fully and flat into the mechanism. Make sure the tool engages with two diagonally opposite corners. - Rotate the mechanism back
Turn the mechanism back by 90° to its original position using the SPC+ Tool. Some additional force may be required. This is normal.
How to prevent the mechanism from over-rotating
When attaching the Universal Phone Case LT, always ensure that the mechanism is positioned completely flat on the mount interface before rotating it 90° into the locked position.
This helps prevent slipping and accidental over-rotation of the mechanism.
