My Universal Phone Case mechanism is locked and I can't attach it to the mount. What can I do?Updated 6 hours ago
In rare cases, the locking mechanism of the SP Connect Universal Phone Case may accidentally become over-rotated.
This can happen if the Universal Phone Case is not positioned completely flat and evenly on the SP Connect mounting head during attachment and slips slightly while being rotated.
As a result, the mechanism may remain in the locked position even though the case is not attached to a mount, preventing it from being connected again.
How Can I Unlock the Mechanism?
You can reset the locking mechanism using the included SPC+ Tool.
Important: Before using the SPC+ Tool, make sure your smartphone is inserted into the Universal Phone Case to provide sufficient stability during the procedure.
- Stabilise the case: Hold the Universal Phone Case firmly with one hand.
- Position the SPC+ Tool: Insert the tool fully and evenly into the locking mechanism. Ensure that it engages with two diagonally opposite corners of the mechanism simultaneously.
- Reset the mechanism: Using the SPC+ Tool, carefully rotate the mechanism back by 90° to its original, unlocked position.
- Check the mechanism: Once reset, verify that the Universal Phone Case can be correctly positioned and securely attached to a compatible SP Connect mount.
Note: Slightly increased resistance when resetting the mechanism is normal. However, avoid applying excessive force if the mechanism does not move.
How Can I Prevent the Mechanism from Becoming Locked Again?
When attaching the Universal Phone Case, always ensure that the Twist-to-Lock mechanism is positioned completely flat and evenly against the mounting head before rotating the case by 90° into the locked position.
Correct alignment helps prevent the mechanism from slipping or becoming accidentally over-rotated.
