How much power does the Charging Module require?Updated a month ago
The SP Connect Charging Module requires a power supply of at least 5 V / 2 A (minimum 10 W) for reliable operation.
Minimum requirements
For regular operation of the Charging Module, the power source should provide at least:
- 5 V / 2 A
- 10 W total power
If the power source does not meet these requirements, charging performance may be reduced or charging may be interrupted.
Requirements for fast charging
For wireless charging at 7.5 W or 10 W, the power source should support at least:
- 9 V / 1.67 A
- 15 W total power
The actual charging power also depends on the smartphone being used and the charging protocols it supports.
Recommended power sources
For the best possible charging performance, we recommend using a power source that supports:
- Quick Charge (QC 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0)
- USB-C Power Delivery (PD)
These standards provide the required voltage and current for optimal charging performance of the Charging Module.
Summary
The Charging Module requires at least 5 V / 2 A (10 W) for reliable operation. For fast charging, we recommend a power source with at least 15 W and support for Quick Charge or USB-C Power Delivery.
