How do I properly use the Universal Interface?Updated 24 days ago
We recommend attaching the Universal Interface to the flat, smooth back of a third-party phone case. Attaching it directly to the smartphone is not advised, as many models have a nano-coating that repels the 3M adhesive. The original 3M adhesive adheres reliably to surfaces such as plastic, glass, metal, and painted materials.
Please follow these steps when attaching the Universal Interface:
- Ensure you have a smooth surface of at least 55 mm x 65 mm for proper adhesion.
- Thoroughly clean the surface with the provided alcohol wipe before applying the adhesive.
- After positioning, press the adhesive holder down firmly for at least 30 seconds.
- Since the adhesive cannot be repositioned, carefully ensure the adapter is in the correct position before attaching.
- Allow the adhesive to set and avoid placing a full load on it for a few hours, depending on the temperature.
Please follow these steps when connecting the Universal Interface to the SP-Connect mount:
Make sure that the Universal Interface is already attached to the back of the third-party phone case.
Then insert your smartphone into the phone case.
Connect the respective SP-Connect mount to your vehicle.
Place the mechanism of the Universal Interface fully and flat onto the mounting interface of the SP-Connect mount.
Turn the phone case (with the Universal Interface) 90° clockwise until it reaches the locked position.
Your smartphone is now securely and firmly attached to the SP-Connect mount.
Connection of the Universal Interface with SP-Connect magnetic mounts:
- If you are using an SP-Connect magnetic mount, simply place the Universal Interface with its integrated magnetic mechanism onto the magnetic connection head. The magnetic connection will securely hold your smartphone in place.
