Why is the Phone Case for my new smartphone only available as SPC+ (rounded rails), and is it compatible with my existing SPC mounts (straight rails)?Updated 7 days ago
The SPC+ system with rounded rails was introduced in 2022 as the successor to the original SPC system with straight rails. Today, all SP Connect Phone Cases for newly released smartphone models use the current SPC+ system.
If you already own an older SP Connect mount with straight SPC rails, you do not necessarily need to replace the entire mount. Many existing SPC mounts can be upgraded to SPC+ by replacing the mounting head.

Can I use an SPC+ Phone Case with my existing SPC mount?
SPC+ Phone Cases with rounded rails and classic SPC mounts with straight rails use different mounting interfaces and are therefore not directly compatible.
However, many classic SPC mounts can be converted to the current SPC+ system by replacing the mounting head. This allows you to continue using the existing mount without replacing the complete product.

Can I use the SPC+ Adapter instead?
The SP Connect SPC+ Adapter can be used to connect an SPC+ Phone Case with many classic SPC mounts featuring straight rails.
For regular use, however, upgrading a compatible mount to an SPC+ mounting head provides a direct connection to the current system.
Are all classic SPC products compatible with SPC+?
No. A small number of legacy SPC products are only partially compatible or cannot be used with current SPC+ Phone Cases.
