Why can’t I mount my SP CONNECT Phone Case or Universal solution onto my SP CONNECT mount, and what can I do?Updated 14 days ago
If the mechanism of your SP CONNECT Phone Case or your Universal solution cannot be connected to the mount, the following are usually the causes:
1) Mechanism is locked or not properly aligned
The locking mechanism may already be in the closed or not fully opened position.
How to recognize this:
- The semi-circular rails are positioned vertically instead of horizontally
- The rails are slightly offset (not fully unlocked)
Solution:
Unlock the mechanism using the SPC+ Tool. Place the phone case or universal solution flat on a surface, position the tool, and turn the mechanism in any direction. After that, it should be possible to correctly attach it to the mount again.
2) Different systems (SPC+ vs. SPC)
SP CONNECT currently offers the SPC+ system with semi-circular rails. The classic SPC system with straight rails is still in circulation.
- SPC+ (current system): Mechanism with semi-circular rails
- SPC (classic system): Mechanism with straight rails
These systems are not directly compatible.
Case A:
SPC+ Case with SPC Mount
→ In most cases, you can use your new phone case with your existing mounts by using the included SPC+ Adapter. Additionally, many mounts can be upgraded to SPC+ simply by replacing the mount head. You can find all details in our Help Center here:
Case B:

→ In many cases, a suitable SPC mount head can be provided.

3) Mechanism cannot be locked despite correct combination
A certain resistance when locking is normal due to the design. The mechanism only works correctly when it is fully and evenly placed on the mount.
Please check the following steps:
- Insert the smartphone correctly
- Ensure the mount is securely installed
- Place the mechanism fully and flush onto the mount
- Turn 90° until it clicks into place
If the mechanism still cannot be locked after following these steps, there may be a defect.
