Which cables can I use with the Charging Module?Updated a month ago
The SP Connect Charging Module can be used with various SP Connect connection cables, depending on whether you want to power it via a USB power source or connect it directly to a motorcycle or e-bike.
USB connection
The following cables are available for use with a USB power source:
- SP Connect Cable USB-A / 50 cm
- SP Connect Cable USB-C / 50 cm (included)
Direct connection to a motorcycle or e-bike
The following cables are available for direct connection to the electrical system of a motorcycle or e-bike:
Cable 12V DC
- SP Connect Cable 12V DC / 150 cm
- Primarily designed for motorcycles
- Also suitable for e-bike systems with a 12 V output
Cable 6V DC
- SP Connect Cable 6V DC / 150 cm
- For e-bike drive systems with a 6 V output
Bosch LPP E-Bike Cable
- SP Connect Bosch LPP E-Bike Cable
- For connection to the LPP or HPP port of compatible Bosch e-bike motors
Compatibility with existing cables from the previous SPC system
If the classic SPC 12V Hard Wire Cable is already installed on your motorcycle, it can continue to be used with the Charging Module.
Simply replace the existing USB-A/USB-C cable with the Cable USB-C (50 cm) supplied with the Charging Module.
If you have the previous SPC Cable Wireless Charger installed on your motorcycle, it can also be used. Please note, however, that the USB-C connection between the cable and the Charging Module does not provide a weatherproof seal in this configuration.
Using third-party cables
Other USB-C cables can generally also be used.
Please note, however, that when using third-party cables or the previous SPC Cable Wireless Charger, a weatherproof seal at the USB-C connection of the Charging Module cannot be guaranteed.
Summary
The Charging Module supports various connection options for USB power sources, motorcycles and e-bikes. For optimal performance and weather resistance, we recommend using the original SP Connect connection cables.
