In rare cases, the mechanism of the SP Connect Phone Case may accidentally be rotated into the locked position while the Phone Case is not attached to a mount.
This can happen if the Phone Case is not placed completely flat on the SP Connect mounting head and slips slightly while being rotated. If this occurs, the mechanism can no longer be placed onto the mount in its current position.
How can I unlock the mechanism?
You can return the mechanism to the correct position using the included SPC+ Tool.
Important: Make sure your smartphone is inserted into the Phone Case before using the SPC+ Tool.
Step-by-step instructions
- Hold the Phone Case securely: Hold the Phone Case firmly with one hand.
- Position the SPC+ Tool correctly: Place the SPC+ Tool fully and flat into the mechanism. Make sure that it touches two diagonally opposite corners at the same time.
- Rotate the mechanism back: Use the SPC+ Tool to rotate the mechanism back by 90° into the open position. A certain amount of force may be required, which is normal.

How can I prevent the mechanism from locking accidentally?
When attaching the Phone Case, always make sure that it is positioned fully and flat on the mounting head before rotating it by 90° into the locked position. This helps prevent the Phone Case from slipping while the mechanism is being rotated.
