The locking mechanism of my Universal Phone Case LT cannot be locked. What can I do?Updated 4 months ago
If the locking mechanism of your SP-Connect Universal Phone Case LT cannot be locked, this does not necessarily indicate a defect.
A certain amount of resistance when locking the SP Connect mechanism is normal by design. In particular, if the mechanism is tested without being attached to a mount or without a smartphone inserted, it may feel significantly stiffer than during normal use.
Step 1: Install the mount correctly
First, install a compatible SP Connect mount correctly on your vehicle.

- Motorcycle
- Car
A secure and stable installation is required to properly test the locking mechanism.
Step 2: Insert your smartphone correctly
Insert your smartphone fully into the Universal Phone Case LT.
- Adjust the Universal Phone Case LT to your smartphone using the included 3M pads and foam inserts.
- Place your smartphone inside the case.
- Close the cover completely until it audibly clicks into place.
- Make sure the smartphone is securely positioned and the case is fully closed.
Step 3: Lock the mechanism
Position the Universal Phone Case LT completely flat on the interface of the mounted SP Connect holder.
- Place the Universal Phone Case LT fully onto the mounting head.
- Rotate the case by 90° into the locked position.
- Check whether the mechanism locks into place correctly.
Only under these conditions are the necessary pressure and leverage forces present to properly evaluate the functionality of the mechanism.
If the Universal Phone Case LT still cannot be locked
If the Universal Phone Case LT still cannot be locked despite correct use, the mechanism may be defective.
