My Charging Anti Vibration Module charges too slowly. What can I do?Updated 2 months ago
The SP Connect Charging Anti Vibration Module supports wireless charging at up to 15 W. However, the actual charging power may vary depending on the smartphone, power source and operating conditions. This is normal with wireless charging and does not necessarily indicate a defect.
Why charging speed may vary
- Smartphone compatibility & charging protocol: Not every smartphone supports the same wireless charging profiles. Some devices generally charge more slowly wirelessly or reduce the charging power sooner.
- Temperature management: When temperatures rise, for example due to direct sunlight, navigation or running apps, many smartphones automatically reduce the charging power to prevent overheating.
- Power supply: If the power source does not provide sufficient power, less energy will be available to the Charging Anti Vibration Module.
- Simultaneous power consumption: Navigation, high display brightness, mobile data or music can consume enough energy that the battery charges only slowly.
- Battery level and battery protection features: Many smartphones charge faster at a low battery level and automatically reduce the charging power at higher battery levels, particularly from around 80%.
Tips for better charging performance
1. Use a suitable power source
- Use a power supply with Power Delivery (PD) or Quick Charge (QC 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0) and sufficient power output.
- A power source with insufficient output can significantly limit charging performance.
2. Position the smartphone correctly
- Make sure the smartphone sits correctly and flat on the Charging Anti Vibration Module.
- The charging coils can only work optimally when the smartphone is correctly aligned.
3. Reduce heat
- Keep the smartphone and Charging Anti Vibration Module out of direct sunlight whenever possible.
- If possible, charge in a cooler environment. Around 20 °C is ideal.
- If the smartphone becomes very warm, allow it to cool down briefly. Charging performance will often increase again afterwards.
4. Reduce power consumption while charging
- Enable adaptive brightness or reduce the display brightness.
- Close background apps that are not required.
- When using navigation, use offline maps whenever possible.
- Disable wireless connections that are not required during your ride.
5. Check charging performance at a low battery level
- If possible, evaluate the charging performance at a lower battery level, for example below 30%.
- Many smartphones automatically reduce their charging speed once the battery reaches a higher charge level.
- At a battery level of around 80% or higher, charging may be significantly slower.
6. Check battery protection features
- Many smartphones include features such as optimized charging, adaptive charging or battery protection.
- These features may reduce charging power or intentionally limit the charging process.
- If necessary, check the battery and charging settings on your smartphone.
If your smartphone still charges too slowly
If the charging performance remains significantly too low despite following these steps, please contact our Customer Support at [email protected].
Please provide us with the following information:
- Order number or proof of purchase
- Complete delivery address
- Smartphone model
- Charging Anti Vibration Module being used
- Details of the power supply, e.g. power adapter, power output, connection method and cable used
- Please also let us know by how many percentage points your smartphone charges within a specific period of time, e.g. “The smartphone charges by approximately 10% in 30 minutes.”
Summary
Slower charging speeds with wireless charging are often caused by temperature, the power supply, smartphone settings or high power consumption during use. Using a suitable power source, ensuring correct alignment and reducing power consumption can usually help improve charging performance.
