My Charging Anti Vibration Module charges too slowly. What can I do?Updated 4 months ago
The SP-Connect Charging Anti Vibration Module supports wireless charging with up to 15 W. However, the actual charging speed may vary depending on your smartphone, power source, and operating conditions. This is normal for wireless charging and does not necessarily indicate a defect.
Why Charging Speed Can Vary
- Smartphone compatibility & charging protocols: Not all smartphones support the same wireless charging profiles. Some devices charge more slowly by design or reduce charging speed sooner than others.
- Temperature management: Heat generated by direct sunlight, navigation apps, or background activity may cause the smartphone to automatically reduce charging power to prevent overheating.
- Power supply: If the power source cannot provide sufficient output, less power will be available to the Charging Anti Vibration Module.
- Simultaneous power consumption: Navigation, high screen brightness, mobile data, and music streaming may consume enough power to significantly reduce the net charging rate.
- Battery level and battery protection features: Many smartphones charge faster at lower battery levels and automatically reduce charging speed as the battery approaches full capacity, especially above approximately 80%.
Tips for Improving Charging Performance
1. Use a Suitable Power Source
- Use a power source that supports Power Delivery (PD) or Quick Charge (QC 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0) and provides sufficient power output.
- An underpowered power source can significantly limit charging performance.
2. Ensure Proper Phone Alignment
- Make sure the smartphone is mounted correctly and sits flat on the Charging Anti Vibration Module.
- The charging coils must be properly aligned to achieve optimal charging performance.
3. Reduce Heat
- Protect both the smartphone and Charging Anti Vibration Module from direct sunlight whenever possible.
- If possible, charge in a cooler environment. An ambient temperature of around 20°C (68°F) is ideal.
- If the smartphone becomes very warm, allow it to cool down before continuing to charge. Charging performance will often improve afterwards.
4. Reduce Power Consumption While Charging
- Enable adaptive brightness or reduce screen brightness.
- Close unnecessary background applications.
- Use offline maps whenever possible during navigation.
- Disable wireless connections that are not required during your ride.
5. Evaluate Charging Performance at a Low Battery Level
- Check charging performance when the battery level is below 30%.
- Many smartphones automatically reduce charging speed as the battery level increases.
- Charging may become noticeably slower once the battery reaches approximately 80% or higher.
6. Review Battery Protection Settings
- Many smartphones include features such as optimized charging, adaptive charging, or battery protection.
- These features may intentionally reduce charging speed or limit charging capacity.
- Check your device's battery and charging settings if necessary.
If Your Smartphone Still Charges Too Slowly
If charging performance remains significantly below expectations after following the steps above, please contact our Customer Support team at [email protected].
Please include the following information:
- Order number or proof of purchase
- Full delivery address
- Smartphone model
- Charging Anti Vibration Module used
- Details about the power source, including charger type, power output, connection method, and cable used
- Please also specify how much the battery charges within a certain period of time, for example: "The smartphone charges approximately 10% within 30 minutes."
Summary
Slow wireless charging is often caused by temperature, power supply limitations, smartphone settings, or high power consumption during use. Using a suitable power source, ensuring proper alignment, and reducing power consumption can often improve charging performance significantly.
