You can easily upgrade your existing SP Connect SPC Handlebar Mount Pro to the current system with rounded rails (SPC+) – without having to replace the entire mount.
Only the mounting head needs to be replaced, while the rest of the mount remains unchanged.
For the upgrade, you will need the following item:
Step-by-step instructions
1. Remove the existing SPC head (straight rails)
- Loosen the Allen screw on the mounting head using the included Allen key of the Handlebar Mount Pro
- Remove the existing SPC head completely from the mount
2. Install the new SPC+ head
- Insert the Head SPC+ Handle Bar Pro into the mount
- Make sure the head sits correctly and flush
3. Secure the head
- Reinsert the Allen screw
- Tighten the screw evenly
- Use a torque of 2 Nm to ensure a secure and proper installation
Check fit
- Make sure the new head is firmly installed and does not move
- Before use, check that all screws are properly tightened
Result
After replacing the head, you will be using the latest SPC+ system with rounded rails and benefit from its improved features.
Compatibility note
Please note that there exists an older version of the Handlebar Mount Pro, which is not compatible with the Head SPC+ Handle Bar Pro.
How to identify your version
1. Current version (compatible)
- There are 4 stamped holes at the front mounting point of the mount
- This version is compatible with the Head SPC+ Handle Bar Pro
2. Older version (not compatible)
- There is a serrated connection underneath the mounting head
- This version is not compatible with the Head SPC+ Handle Bar Pro
Important for checking
- Remove the mounting head to identify your version
- The difference is only visible when the head is removed
