How do I connect the Cable 12V DC to my e-bike motor?Updated 3 months ago

The SP Connect Cable 12V DC connects to the accessory or low-voltage output of a compatible e-bike drive system. It then supplies power to the SP-Connect Charging Module, the SP-Connect Charging Anti Vibration Module, or the SP-Connect Universal Charging Phone Clamp.

Connecting to your e-bike

The Cable 12V DC is designed to connect to the accessory or low-voltage output of an e-bike drive system. Depending on the manufacturer, these outputs are commonly used for lights, USB chargers, trackers, alarm systems, or other accessories.

  1. First, check the output voltage of your e-bike's accessory or low-voltage output.
  2. If the output provides 12 V, you can connect the Cable 12V DC to it.
  3. Then connect the cable's USB-C connector to the Charging Module, Charging Anti Vibration Module, or the SP Connect Universal Charging Phone Clamp.

Important note

For a reliable power supply, we recommend using the selected accessory or low-voltage output exclusively for the Cable 12V DC.

If additional devices are connected to the same output, the available power may not be sufficient. This can reduce charging performance or prevent the connected SP Connect charging system from operating correctly.

Note: The Cable 12V DC is designed exclusively for 12 V accessory or low-voltage outputs. If your e-bike has a 6 V output, use the SP-Connect Cable 6V DC instead. For compatible Bosch e-bike systems with a Low Power Port (LPP), we recommend the SP-Connect Bosch LPP E-Bike Cable.

Summary

The SP Connect Cable 12V DC connects to a compatible e-bike drive system's 12 V accessory or low-voltage output and supplies power to the Charging Module, Charging Anti Vibration Module, or the SP Connect Universal Charging Phone Clamp. For a reliable power supply, no additional devices should ideally be connected to the same output.
