You can upgrade your SP Connect Moto Mount 3D to the SP Connect Mag-Align system using several different products.
All of the products listed below feature the SP Connect Mag-Align system. The magnetic guidance makes it easier to align the SP Connect Phone Case and allows for faster and more convenient attachment to the mount.
The following products are available for the upgrade:
- Mag-Align Head A: Allows you to upgrade to the Mag-Align system. For installation directly on the clamp, an additional SP Connect Sprocket Adapter is required.
- SP Connect Anti Vibration Module: Allows you to upgrade to the Mag-Align system while additionally reducing high-frequency motorcycle vibrations to help protect sensitive smartphone cameras. The Sprocket Adapter required for installation on the clamp is already included.
- SP Connect Charging Anti Vibration Module: Offers the same benefits as the Anti Vibration Module and additionally enables wireless charging of your smartphone while riding. The Sprocket Adapter required for installation on the clamp is already included.
All three solutions can be installed either on the extension arm or compactly directly on the clamp of the Moto Mount 3D.
Installation on the extension arm
1. Remove the existing mounting head
- Loosen the Allen screw on the mounting head using the appropriate Allen key.
- Completely remove the existing mounting head from the extension arm.
- Important: Do not remove the sprocket adapter underneath, as it is required to install the new component.
2. Install the Mag-Align Head A
- Insert the Mag-Align Head A into the existing sprocket adapter on the extension arm.
- Adjust the mounting head to the desired position.
- Secure it using the screw included with the Mag-Align Head A.
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm.
3. Install the Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module
- Insert the Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module into the existing sprocket adapter on the extension arm.
- Secure the module using the M5 × 16 mm screw included with the respective module.
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm.
Compact installation directly on the clamp
1. Remove the extension arm
- Loosen the mounting screw securing the extension arm to the clamp.
- Completely remove the extension arm from the clamp.
- The sprocket ring on the clamp is now exposed.
2. Install the Sprocket Adapter
- Place the SP Connect Sprocket Adapter onto the exposed sprocket ring of the clamp.
- Please note: When installing the Mag-Align Head A, the Sprocket Adapter must be purchased separately.
- When using the SP Connect Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module, the required Sprocket Adapter is already included with the respective product.
3. Install the Mag-Align Head A
- Insert the Mag-Align Head A into the Sprocket Adapter.
- Adjust the mounting head to the desired position.
- Secure it using the screw included with the Mag-Align Head A.
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm.
4. Install the Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module
- Insert the Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module into the supplied Sprocket Adapter.
- Secure the module using the M5 × 16 mm screw included with the respective module.
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm.
Check the installation
- Make sure that all components are securely installed and cannot rotate unintentionally.
- Check that all screws have been tightened to the specified torque.
- Before every ride, check that the mount and smartphone are securely attached.
