You can upgrade your SP Connect Moto Mount 3D 1½″ to the SP Connect Mag-Align system in several ways.
All of the products listed below feature the SP Connect Mag-Align system, which uses magnetic guidance to make attaching your SP Connect Phone Case faster and more convenient.
Depending on the additional functionality you want, the following options are available:
- Mag-Align Head A: Allows you to upgrade to the Mag-Align system. The mounting head can be installed either on the extension arm or directly on the clamp using a separately available Sprocket Adapter.
- SP Connect Anti Vibration Module: Also allows you to upgrade to the Mag-Align system and additionally reduces high-frequency motorcycle vibrations, shocks and impacts to help protect sensitive smartphone cameras.
- SP Connect Charging Anti Vibration Module: Offers the same benefits as the Anti Vibration Module and additionally enables wireless charging of your smartphone while riding.
The following instructions describe how to install all three products.
Installation on the extension arm
1. Remove the existing mounting head
- Loosen the hex screw on the mounting head using the appropriate Allen key.
- Completely remove the existing mounting head from the extension arm.
2. Install the Mag-Align Head A
- Insert the Mag-Align Head A into the sprocket adapter on the extension arm.
- Position the mounting head as desired.
- Secure it using the screw supplied with the Mag-Align Head A.
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm.
3. Install the Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module
- Insert the Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module into the sprocket adapter on the extension arm.
- Secure the module using the supplied M5 × 16 mm screw.
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm.
Compact installation directly on the clamp
1. Remove the extension arm
- Loosen the screw securing the extension arm to the clamp.
- Completely remove the extension arm from the clamp.
- The sprocket ring on the clamp is now exposed.
2. Install the Sprocket Adapter
- Place the SP Connect Sprocket Adapter onto the exposed sprocket ring of the clamp.
- Please note: To install the Mag-Align Head A, the Sprocket Adapter must be purchased separately.
- When using the SP Connect Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module, the required Sprocket Adapter is already included with the respective product.
3. Install the Mag-Align Head A
- Insert the Mag-Align Head A into the Sprocket Adapter.
- Position the mounting head as desired.
- Secure it using the screw supplied with the Mag-Align Head A.
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm.
4. Install the Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module
- Insert the Anti Vibration Module or Charging Anti Vibration Module into the supplied Sprocket Adapter.
- Secure the module using the M5 × 16 mm screw supplied with the respective module.
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm.
Check the installation
- Make sure all components are securely installed and cannot rotate unintentionally.
- Check that all screws have been tightened to the specified torque.
- Before every ride, check that the mount and smartphone are securely attached.
