How can I upgrade my existing Handlebar Mount to the SP Connect Mag-Align system?Updated 2 months ago
The current version of the SP-Connect Handlebar Mount available in our online store can be easily upgraded to the SP Connect Mag-Align system .
For the upgrade, you will need the following item:
Please note: The Mag-Align Head A is not included with the Handlebar Mount and must be purchased separately.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Remove the existing head
- Loosen the Allen screw on the mount head using the included Allen key
- Remove the existing head completely from the mount
2. Insert the toothed adapter
- Insert the toothed adapter included with the Mag-Align Head A into the mount interface
3. Install the Mag-Align Head A
- Place the Mag-Align Head A into the toothed adapter
- Secure it using the included Allen screw
- Tighten the screw to a torque of 3 Nm
Check installation
- Ensure that the new head is securely mounted and does not move
- Check before use that all screws are properly tightened
Result
Your Handlebar Mount is now upgraded to the Mag-Align system, allowing faster and more convenient use thanks to magnetic guidance. Additionally, the Mag-Align Head A provides an integrated shock damping system for enhanced protection of your smartphone.

Compatibility note
Please note that there is an older version of the Handlebar Mount that is not compatible with the Mag-Align Head A.
How to identify your version
1. Current version (compatible)
- The screw used to remove the mount head is located on the top side of the mount
2. Older version (not compatible)
- The screw is located on the underside of the mount
- This version is not compatible with the Mag-Align Head A
Solution for older versions
If you own the older version:
- Please contact our customer support and provide a photo of the removed mount head
- Make sure the photo shows whether your mount uses the old system (straight rails) or the new system (rounded rails)
