You can easily upgrade your SP Connect SPC Brake Mount Large to the current system with rounded rails (SPC+) without having to replace the entire mount.
Only the mounting head (Head) needs to be replaced. The rest of the mount remains unchanged.
For the upgrade, you will need the following product:
Step-by-step instructions
1. Remove the old SPC head (straight rails)
- Loosen the Allen screw on the mounting head using a suitable Allen key.
- Completely remove the existing SPC head from the Brake Mount Large.
2. Install the new SPC+ head
- Insert the Head SPC+ Brake, Micro Bike, Uni Bike, Mirror into the mount of the Brake Mount Large.
- Make sure the head is correctly positioned and sits flush.
3. Secure the head
- Reinsert the Allen screw.
- Tighten the screw evenly.
- Use a torque of 3 Nm to ensure a secure and correct installation.
Check the installation
- Make sure the new mounting head is securely installed and does not move.
- Before use, check that the screw is correctly tightened.
- Before every ride, check that the mount is securely attached.
