Can I use the Handlebar Mount on handlebars with a diameter of 22.2 mm?Updated 7 hours ago

Yes, with an additional reduction ring. The SP Connect Handlebar Mount is designed for round handlebars with diameters of 25.4 mm and 31.8 mm.

Since a handlebar diameter of 22.2 mm (7/8") is smaller than the minimum supported diameter of 25.4 mm (1"), the included reduction rings are not suitable for securely mounting the Handlebar Mount on their own.

However, we can provide a special reduction ring for 22.2 mm handlebars upon request through our Customer Support team.

How Can I Obtain the Reduction Ring?

If you would like to install the Handlebar Mount on a 22.2 mm handlebar, please contact our Customer Support team and provide the following information:

  • Your request: Let us know that you require a reduction ring for a 22.2 mm handlebar.
  • Your shipping address: Provide your complete delivery address so we can arrange shipment.

Our Customer Support team will then provide you with an order link to cover the applicable shipping costs.

You can contact us at [email protected].

Important Installation Information

When installing the Handlebar Mount on a 22.2 mm handlebar, please ensure that:

  • The additional reduction ring is correctly positioned between the handlebar and the mounting clamp.
  • The handlebar has a round mounting section with a diameter of 22.2 mm.
  • The Handlebar Mount is securely fastened and cannot rotate or move unintentionally.
  • All mounting screws are correctly tightened before riding.

Important: Do not attempt to compensate for the smaller handlebar diameter using improvised materials or by excessively tightening the mounting clamp.

Summary

The SP Connect Handlebar Mount is designed for handlebars measuring 25.4 mm or 31.8 mm in diameter.

For 22.2 mm (7/8") handlebars, an additional reduction ring is required. This can be requested from our Customer Support team, with shipping costs applying.
