Can I use the Cable 12V DC with a 36 V or 48 V e-bike system?Updated 3 months ago

Yes. The 36 V or 48 V system voltage of your e-bike is not present at the motor's accessory or lighting output.

Instead, the accessory port provides a regulated output voltage of either 6 V or 12 V, depending on the manufacturer and motor model. This output voltage determines which SP Connect cable you need.

Which cable do I need?

Before connecting your SP Connect charging product, please check the following:

  1. What output voltage does your motor's accessory or lighting port provide?
    → 6 V or 12 V
  2. Are any other accessories connected?
→ For example, a front or rear light connected to the same output.

How does the Cable 12V DC work?

The SP Connect Cable 12V DC features an integrated voltage converter and has been specifically developed for use with the SP Connect Charging Module, the SP Connect Charging Anti Vibration Module and the SP Connect Universal Charging Phone Clamp. Together, they reliably convert the e-bike's output voltage into the charging voltage required by your smartphone.

Summary

The 36 V or 48 V system voltage of your e-bike does not affect the Cable 12V DC, as the accessory port provides a regulated output of only 6 V or 12 V. When choosing the correct cable, the only important factor is the output voltage of your e-bike's accessory port.
