Almost all SP Connect motorcycle mounts feature integrated damping. Why do I still need the Anti Vibration Module?Updated a month ago

With the exception of the SP Connect Brake Mount, SP Connect Mirror Mount and SP Connect Moto Mount LT, all current SP Connect motorcycle mounts feature integrated shock damping.

However, this integrated damping and the SP Connect Anti Vibration Module serve different purposes and complement each other.

Integrated damping of the mount

The integrated damping in the mounting head is designed to reduce shocks, impacts and light vibrations caused by potholes, cobblestones or uneven terrain, for example.

This helps keep your smartphone more stable on the mount and makes the display easier to read while riding.

Anti Vibration Module

The SP Connect Anti Vibration Module was specifically developed to reduce high-frequency engine vibrations. Modern smartphones feature sensitive camera components such as optical image stabilization (OIS) and autofocus systems, which can be damaged by prolonged exposure to engine vibrations.

Thanks to its specially developed elastomer inlay, the Anti Vibration Module reduces vibrations transmitted to your smartphone by up to 60%, providing additional protection for sensitive smartphone cameras.

Our recommendation

We generally recommend using an SP Connect Anti Vibration Module or SP Connect Charging Anti Vibration Module whenever you use your smartphone on a motorcycle mount while riding – particularly with smartphones featuring optical image stabilization or other sensitive camera systems.

Summary

The integrated damping of an SP Connect motorcycle mount primarily reduces shocks and impacts from the road. The SP Connect Anti Vibration Module, on the other hand, was specifically developed to reduce high-frequency engine vibrations and provide additional protection for sensitive smartphone cameras. Both systems serve different purposes and complement each other to provide the best possible protection for your smartphone.
